Bond Labs Limited is the data controller for DrivewaySim where personal data reaches us, such as a support message, a sign-in email, a cloud backup you save, a customer link you create, or a Plus billing profile. We are registered with the ICO under number ZC188014. That listing is a public fee record. It is not a badge of approval.
This notice is written for UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. It is not legal advice. Bond Labs Limited is named here. It is not named on customer paper.

What stays on this device
Drafts, photos, your firm (trading name, logo, address, phone, email, VAT and company number), the rate book and device preferences are stored on this device. The desk needs a 6-digit email sign-in. Saving a draft here does not upload that draft.
Optional cloud backups are separate copies you choose to save to a signed-in account. Restore happens only when you confirm it. Matching jobs on this device are replaced with that snapshot. Jobs that exist only on this device stay. The company card, rates and preferences in the snapshot replace those on this device. Signing in never does this on its own. Wiping this device removes the local copy. Existing cloud backups remain until you delete them or the account.
You print, save a PDF, copy a share link, or send a message yourself from this device. Those copies show your trading details. DrivewaySim and Bond Labs Limited stay off the customer sheet.
Your customers
Customer names and photographs
Names, addresses, phone numbers and photographs you type about a householder belong to that job, not to us. For that data you are the controller. We process it only when you ask us to: a photo read or look, a cloud backup you save, or a customer link you create. Only put in what you need for the estimate.
A street photograph can catch a neighbour's window, a face or a number plate. You decide what you photograph and what you send. We do not invent metres, VAT, planning permission or a dropped-kerb consent from that picture.
When you use it
What we process when you use the app
- Photo read. When you tap Read the photo, that photo is sent once to the photo service so it can describe what is visible. We do not invent metres from it, and we do not paint a new surface onto it. Typed metres price the job.
- Sign-in. The desk needs a six-digit email code before it opens. Signing in does not upload drafts. A cloud backup is a separate choice. A code invented on this phone is not a sign-in. The sign-in host holds the account. The code is emailed from hello@drivewaysim.com through the email sender.
- Hosting. The web host serves the app. Its logs may include an IP address, user agent, and the time of a request. If you install the app, this phone may keep a copy of the app files.
- Subscription (web). If you subscribe from the web, the card handler processes the payment and holds the card. We store when Plus runs until, once the payment notice matches your account. We do not store full card numbers. The app on this phone cannot grant itself Plus.
- Subscription (Apple or Google). If you buy in the Apple or Google app, Apple or Google processes the payment. Those stores hold the payment method.
- Support mail. If you write to support@drivewaysim.com, we keep the thread long enough to answer it. We do not sell that mailbox.
- Account deletion. Delete account removes the sign-in held by the sign-in host, cloud backups and customer links, then wipes drafts, photos, firm and rates on this phone. It does not cancel a subscription. Cancel Plus on the Company page, or with Apple or Google.
Cloud
Cloud accounts and customer links
The sign-in host handles email-code sign-in and private backups of jobs, photos, company details, rates and preferences. You can keep up to 20 snapshots in an account. Restore happens only when you confirm it. Signing out leaves device data in place.
A customer link saves an immutable customer estimate and its images without private job notes, internal scheduling, unused rates or app branding. Anyone with the link can open it. Links stop opening after 90 days and can be withdrawn on the Company page. Copies already downloaded cannot be withdrawn.
Cookies
Cookies
We use essential secure session cookies for sign-in, hosting and security. Those are strictly necessary to give you the signed-in features you asked for. Per-account counters enforce customer-link and daily limits on photo reads and looks. Drafts, photos, your firm and the rate book live on this phone, not in an advertising cookie. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use behavioural analytics. We do not sell your data. If you subscribe on the web, the card handler takes payment on its own site and may set its own cookies there.
Limits
What we do not do
- We do not sell your drafts or photos.
- We do not send a quote to your customer for you.
- We do not use occupancy to select VAT.
- We do not invent metres, a fall, or a base from a photo.
- We do not grant planning permission, highways consent, or Building Control approval.
- We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Typed metres and the rates you choose set the figures.
Law
Legal basis
We process this data to provide the service you ask for (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and where needed for our legitimate interests in running, securing, and answering support for the app (Article 6(1)(f)). Subscription records are also processed because we have to keep accounting records (Article 6(1)(c)).
A photo read, a look, a sign-in code, a backup you save, a customer link you create, or a Plus checkout happens because you asked for that step. Records kept on this device stay under your control.
Retention
How long we keep it
Cloud backups stay until you delete the snapshot or account. Link expiry stops public access but does not itself erase stored records. Local drafts stay until you delete them, wipe the device, or clear site data. Photos sent for a read or a look are processed for that request. Hosting logs are kept for a short period by the host. Support mail is kept only as long as needed to deal with the request. Subscription records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Companies that receive data
- Vercel, the web host.
- Supabase, the sign-in host. Email sign-in, private backups and customer links.
- Resend, the email sender. Sign-in codes from hello@drivewaysim.com.
- xAI, the photo service. Photo read and look.
- Stripe, the card handler. Web payments when you subscribe on the web.
- RevenueCat, store purchases passed to Apple or Google.
- Apple, store payment.
- Google, store payment.
Each company only sees what that step needs. We do not sell the book.
Outside the UK
Companies outside the UK
Some companies that receive data are outside the UK. That includes the photo service for a photo read or look, the email sender for sign-in mail, the card handler for web payments, the company that passes a store purchase to Apple or Google, Apple or Google, and the web host. We use them only to run the feature you asked for. Do not use Read the photo or Show the look if you cannot send those photographs for that processing.
Your rights
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold, ask us to correct it, delete it, or restrict how we use it, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also ask for a portable copy. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. To use these rights for DrivewaySim, write to the support mailbox.
Because most drafts never leave this device, deleting a job, exporting JSON, or wiping this phone is the practical way to erase them here. You can export a JSON backup of what is on this phone from the Company page. That file is not a customer quote.
Where we rely on a legal obligation, erasure does not apply to that billing record until the law allows it. Close the account on the Company page. Cancel Plus separately, on the Company page or with Apple or Google.

Children
DrivewaySim is a tool for tradespeople quoting UK drives. It is not for children. It is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
